Highlights
This one day retreat focusing on mindful movement will combine the powerful practice of yoga with the stunning scenery and atmosphere of Dartmoor. Starting the day with a mindful yet dynamic hatha yoga practice before heading out into the wilds of Dartmoor to experience the healing and restoring benefits of time in nature.
You will be supported and looked after throughout this experience by Cathy our 200 hour qualified yoga teacher who will also share her vast experience of the dynamic landscape that Dartmoor has to offer.
All fitness and experience levels are catered for. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. Sturdy footwear and warm clothes advised for time on the moor.
Itinerary
Tea and Coffee on arrival at the Barn. Once we're settled in and introduced we'll settle onto our mats and begin to connect mind and body through a guided yoga session focusing on developing awareness, balancing the system and moving in a way that feels good. We will finish the yoga session with a guided relaxation allowing the benefits of the practice to fully integrate into mind and body. We will then travel a short distance by car (own transport) to begin our exploration of Dartmoor by foot. Moving in a mindful way, with moments to be still and quite, we will soak up the amazing atmosphere Dartmoor has to offer. We will choose a walk suitable for the group and conditions on the day which will allow us to take in the views from the tops of some of Dartmoor's amazing Tor's as well as exploring the less well trodden routes revealing some of Dartmoor's hidden gems. With each step experience the stresses and strains of life simply dissolve away to allow you to connect with feeling of peace and calm. Throughout the walk we will explore mindful practices to deepen this connection with ourselves, each other and the environment around us. We will finish the day back where we started.
