Adventure Highlights

Wild camps are the only way to truly immerse yourself and escape from it all. It is very difficult to leave everything at home, however, once you start to paddle into the remote areas of the Geopark and witness some of the sites of scientific interest, meet some friendly seals, catch your lunch, taste the oils of freshly filleted and cooked fish, whilst listening to the rhythmic song of the sea. As your blade rushes through the water, you feel the boat bob up and down on the vast ocean beneath you, you witness dramatic rock formations that seem impossible to form peppered with marine sea birds nesting in between the rocky outcrops and ledges. Packed inside the boat is everything you need to stay out under the stars. We have many options for wild camping and they are best utilised midweek due to the potential for sharing the areas at weekends. We will always find our own private beach/campsite and will do our best to fulful your motivations and desires. A favourite location is on the backwaters of the Dart, that is protected in all conditions and even has its own Folly to explore and sunken pirate ships. We are launching 4 Wild Camping tours for 2019 set around the full moon for ease of landing at our highest tide and exploring the inter-tidal zone at our lowest. Tours and spaces are limited however bespoke tours can be arranged, throughout the season. Each tour will take advantage of the best conditions and camping grounds. We supply camping and technical equipment, from dry bags to thermal inflatable mats for a cosy nights sleep. We recommend you bring your own sleeping bags and go for at least a 3 season. We will attempt to catch and forage our food and we will supply a BBQ for grilling and beach fire for wild cooking, boiling and toasting marshmallows. Adventure Details

Day 1

Start time 09:30

Please contact for a full itinerary. Below is a general wild camp
The launch will be the closest access to our chosen campsite and ease of access due to the weight of the kayaks once loaded. I do supply wheels for ease of moving loaded boats.
On arrival, you will complete the safety brief and paddle demonstration. Followed by a boat loading demonstration as you can fit a lot of gear inside a kayak with strategic placement or kit.
You will take a tour around the launch location and its sites of specific scientific interest and a journey to a secluded cove where we will stop for lunch. I will bring a BBQ, stove and wood for a campfire so we can have hot drinks, food and refreshments whenever you choose.
We will journey from here to the campsite and set up the tents and unpack the boats, probably the next cove. From this point on it is up to you if we explore by boat any further or you wish to explore the area we visit on foot or relax in your new home. The remote areas are very special and untouched by your average visitor.
You can sit out under the stars by the fire until you wish to retire and start the following day at a time of your choice.

Day 2

The following morning after breakfast you can explore further on foot or relax on the beach until you are ready.
From here you can carry on our journey and stop at a further cove for lunch or refreshment before returning to the launch.
On either day there will be several opportunities for coasteering, kayak fishing, wild cave swimming and swimming from the beaches along with amazing rock pooling and marine foraging.
We will not travel far as it is easy to see a lot within a short distance due to the changing geology at every cove, however, we can always do more if your group desires.
